America's self-titled debut produced the #1 song "A Horse With No Name" and the popular singles "I Need You", "Sandman" and "Three Roses". The group America actually formed in England. Band members Gerry Beckly, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek were all sons of military personnel stationed at a U.S. Air Force base in London. The three met in a London high school and recorded their first album there.
